Light Up the Dark

Life is all about keeping a balance, reaching equilibrium in all aspects of our day to day, assessing and dealing with what is bad, and of course appreciating what is good in our lives. This balancing of the good and the bad can be a stressful endeavour, but we need the structure in our lives to operate, however given how a lot of the structure of our lives has been torn away due to this pandemic, a lot have been left with an accumulation of stress. Our lives with a lack of structure in place, we can end up feeling lost, alone, and ultimately pessimistic about our existence. It’s easy to fall into a rut without even knowing, but you have all the tools to turn that frown upside-down, you can take charge of your actions, your own life, and rebuild the foundations you once had to provide the structure you need to keep that head up 😊.

I wrote the above paragraph to remind all that, it is okay to not be okay, but to know that you can turn things around, and there are people around that are willing to provide a helping hand. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and with that we would like to again highlight the benefits to our mental health that Sauna use can provide. Mental Health is no joke, but the heat of Sauna is no joke either, fight fire with fire. Sauna can help us get back to where we were, recover the structure, our lives, our health 😊.

An increasing amount of studies have shown that the heat through Sauna stimulates the skin and underlying tissues of our body which can activate serotonin releasing cells in our brain. If you didn’t know, serotonin is the neurotransmitter responsible for enhancing feelings of wellbeing and happiness. And we all know that our brain needs nutrients and oxygen to function properly, keep that brain fit and health to combat all those stresses that life, especially now, throws at us! Well Sauna use can stimulate increased levels of blood flow through vasodilation, this allows the brain to get a healthy supply of nutrient rich and oxygenated blood to our busy brains 😊.

You might be wondering if there’s any proof to my words, and if so, don’t worry the studies are there 😊. Several studies have reported significantly reduced symptoms of depression in just one Sauna use, however more times the better as through regular sauna treatment the benefits are more robust 😊. More studies, mainly out of Finland due to their Sauna addition 😉, found that Sauna use can significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety, improve stress relief, and enhance your mood after a visit to a Sauna 😊.

We are always here to try help boost your mood in as many ways as we can 😊. Go check out the release of our latest sauna Session with the smashing Isaac Butler, he was a real pleasure to have in and his music does him justice. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did 😊.
